I would like to share an experience I had this week at work.

I had a patient come in this week and we got chatting after his appointment. He noticed my Baby Yoda face mask and asked if I liked Star Wars. I replied, "oh yes, very much!" and he started to talk about this club he's seen locally that does Star Wars reenactments. I told him, "yes, I know the club you're talking about. I'm actually a member, and we don't really do reenactments but use our costumes to raise money for charity by attending events or by doing hospital visits." He then told me he had cancer has a child, which I didn't know, and he added Camp Magical Moments.
For those who don't know, Camp Magical Moments is a week stay-away camp for kids with cancer. Each year the camp will have a different theme, such as "Harry Potter" or "Lord of the Rings". The camp is decorated for the theme and all the activities center around it. Two times now they have had a Star Wars theme and our garrison was invited to participate as special surprise guests. This patient was at the camp one of the years we attended and he told me how great it was, how much fun he had, and how much it lifted his spirits. He is a young adult now so this would have been over 10 years ago that we attended.

It isn't often that we get to see the fruits of the labors that we put in at events. The lives that we touch and the lasting impact that we have. More so, the members that attended Camp Magical Moments when my patient was there are all mostly retired now, I think only 1 is still active.
What we are doing now will have ripples for many years to come.
    This is the way <3

That is awesome, seeing how a troop can really make an impact on someone, especially a decade later.
